Cloud Native

Cloud Native is now mainstream. Whether your a cloud developer or a blockchain developer the time has come for you to get to know cloud native. Demand for cloud native gurus has never been higher.

Lets discuss what cloud native is, why it is important, demand for expertise and how to get enabled quickly

What is Cloud Native?

Cloud native is a development term that is used to describe container-based environments and services (technologies).

Cloud-native technologies are used to develop applications built with services packaged in containers which are deployed as microservices. These cloud native technologies are managed on elastic infrastructure (Cloud) through agile DevOps processes such as continuous delivery workflows. (CI/CD Pipelines)

Why use Cloud Native environment and services?
Cloud native technology has a faster deployment time, improved scalability and cloud portability. Cloud Native is also widely as part of DevOps best practices approach in highly agile services environments.

For more on DevOps check out my article here.

What are the main Cloud Native Features?

The main features that generally should be part of a cloud native strategy in a successful organization would be the consistent use of Open Source software, DevOps automation, focus on the solutions, agile development and a constant learning environment.

Demand for Cloud Native Expertise
Cloud native skills are some of the most in-demand in the industry and have an ever increasing demand from companies. Just search on LinkedIn and see how many roles there are that have “Cloud Native” as part of the job description or requirements.

For example on LinkedIn there were over 14,000 roles that listed “Cloud Native” as part of the role either as a requirement or as a nice to have…. Then if you look at roles specifically with Cloud Native in the title there were hundreds.

How to get enabled quickly and efficiently in Cloud Native?

The Linux Foundation has a great way way to help you become fluent in this cutting-edge technology around Cloud Native.

They are offering their most popular Cloud Native courses plus the CKA exam in one bundle for $349. A savings of 70%! (YES, the EXAM AS WELL) One week only!

The bundle includes the following courses to help you get enabled in Cloud Native. It includes the Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Exam!!

  • Containers Fundamentals (LFS253)-Build a solid Containers foundation.
  • Kubernetes Fundamentals (LFS258)- Learn how to use the Kubernetes container management platform.
  • Cloud-Native Logging with Fluentd (LFS242)-Explore the log forwarding and aggregation tool, Fluentd.
  • Monitoring Systems and Services with Prometheus (LFS241)- Learn how to gain better insight into your systems and services and define precise and meaningful alerts using Prometheus.

The CKA Exam

The Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)-Proves you have the skills, knowledge, and competency to perform the responsibilities of a Kubernetes administrator.

This is a really generous offer because the exam is $300 and your effectively getting world class training by the experts for $49!!

Check out the link below. This is a limited time offer…….

GO_CLOUD_NATIVE!

Kubernetes is Cloud Native..

Kubernetes is a cloud native platform. How? It presents a flat network that is overlaid on existing networking topologies and primitives of cloud providers.

The native storage layer is often abstracted to expose logical volumes that are integrated with containers.

The infrastructure abstraction not only addresses the need for portability across cloud environments, but also lets developers take advantage of emerging patterns to build and deploy applications.

Kubernetes developers, engineers and other IT pros can allocate storage quotas and network policies that are accessed by developers and resource administrators.

Orchestration managers become the deployment target, irrespective of the underlying infrastructure that may be based on physical servers or virtual machines, private clouds or public clouds.
